Varsity Girls Basketball

Our team competes in the New England Preparatory Athletic Council (NEPSAC) league in Class AAA. The goal of our program is to be elite in all areas, including training, fitness, skills, and winning percentage. We aim to compete in top tournaments around the country and to win at the highest level. We value competing in everything that we do and putting the team over the individual. 

Tammy Millsaps

Tammy Millsaps joined the Dexter Southfield coaching staff after five years at New London High School in Connecticut, where she led the team to three consecutive Eastern Connecticut Championships and a Class MM State Championship. In 2023, she was named Eastern Connecticut Coach of the Year. Coach Millsaps led Capital Prep School in Hartford, CT, to four consecutive Connecticut state championships and coached a two-time Gatorade Player of the Year, as well as a McDonald's All-American player. Many of her former players have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, including at Seton Hall University, University of Pittsburgh, Florida State University, Syracuse University, and University of Maryland.

Coach Millsaps brings additional depth from her 11 years of collegiate coaching experience: she served as an assistant coach at Southern Connecticut State University, Bloomsburg University, and the New Jersey Institute of Technology, and held the Head Coach position at Bloomsburg. Coach Millsaps holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications and a master's degree in sport leadership, both from Virginia Commonwealth University.
